Cowpokes…

Here’s the schedule for 5th Annual Lazy Arrow ShootOut, May 22-24, 2020 at the Pozo River Vigilance Committee’s range in Santa Margarita, CA.

Trailers and campers may arrive on Thursday, May 21 after 1:00pm. Our Warm Up and Speed Matches are on Friday, and our Main Match begins on Saturday with six stages Saturday and six Stages on Sunday. Sunday’s Eliminator Match is open to all shooters. The Camatta Ranch’s heralded Wild West BBQ dinner is on Sunday night along with our awards presentation and bluegrass music concert.

This is a super fun match on the beautiful 32,000 acre Camatta Ranch - a working cattle ranch with lots of Wild West history. Our range features 13 permanent bays, including our Long Range Bay, Fort Morrison (with targets from 100y to 1,300y), and our Wild West “camp” is nestled in a beautiful canyon. Trailer camping is dry camping but we have flush toilets and hot showers in the campground. Water fill is available when you come into the campground and our Campground Host, Ruthless Rodg, will help you get settled. The campground is immediately adacent to our range, and our range also features flush toilets.

I want to chime in and encourage any and all who can make it to come on out to the Lazy Arrow ShootOut!!

Whether you've been before, or you're thinking of joining us for the first time, come see all the work that's been done this year to make your experience not only a really-great-time of Cowboy Action Shooting, but a whole experience: a ton of fun hanging out with pards while enjoying star-filled night skies, campfires, pot-lucks, and an authentic western barbecue on this amazing and scenic cattle ranch .

Sheriff Mountain Man Mark and his team have been working all year on range improvements: we have added six new bays, bringing our total to 13 separate bays for your shooting pleasure, not to mention our newly widened and graded two-lane road through the ranch to the range.

Our range is set back in the hills of a 32,000 acre cattle and exotic animal Ranch in San Luis Obispo County. Ranging from Chaparral, Oak and Grey Pine tree studded hills, to picturesque open fields of grass and wildflowers, the ranch offers folks an abundance of opportunities to enjoy all that the land has to offer. The Camatta Ranch dates back to Mexican land grant days and was put together in 1846.

So come take a break from the everyday, come step back in time to where the buffalo still roam and Old West Hospitality is alive and well at Lazy Arrow.

So save the date for Memorial Day Weekend and come enjoy the hospitality, fresh air, American Bison, and wide open spaces with your friends at the Pozo River Vigilance Committee in the town of Lazy Arrow!

Y'all are welcome and we sure hope you can come spend the time with us shooting a very fun match, catching up with old friends and making new ones, all while enjoying this fantastic location! We don't want you to miss it!

Besides the 12 separate bays for all 12 stages, one of the things I’m most excited about this year is our new Friday evening campfire jam. We invite all players at any skill levels to bring out their instrument and to join around the campfire for an old time Pick’n, Pluck’n, Twang’n, String’n & Sing’n session. Besides the music there will be hot cocoa for sipping and all the makings for s'mores.  Please come join in all the fun.
