Trailrider #896 Posted January 23, 2020 Share Posted January 23, 2020 What most people don't realize is that water bomber aircraft and their crews face almost as much danger as flying close air support in a hostile environment! To be effective, the water bomber must fly low and usually pretty slow...close to stalling speeds. They can be subject to violent turbulence, that can literally drive the plane into the ground!
