That’s a beautiful sword. The sword it’s self may have been produced in a small German town called Solingen. I know you didn’t ask, but I myself would Take it to a dealer and find out it’s true worth.        https://www.google.com/search?q=soligen+swords&client=safari&hl=en-us&nfpr=1&sxsrf=ACYBGNQLo34noMUduNXUXuCMp2hZUOyw_w:1579832791711&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjLxOril5vnAhWMoJ4KHTRGB9wQ_AUoAnoECAoQBA&biw=1112&bih=667

This town has been producing swords, daggers, and cutlery since around the 12 th or 13 th centuries. May I ask where you purchased it? Weather an original or reproduction it’s a fine sword.

See link to similar sword, with matching escutcheon on COA - "believed to be Serbian";  sold at 600 English pounds, you may want to verify with a dealer or collector before you let it go.

I know of no sword dealers in Montana. It was given to me about 60 m/l years ago.

I knew there would be a bunch of Cowboys on here that knew more than me and willing to make sure another Cowboy didn’t loose a bunch gold and the possibly history behind this item.
Thanks y’all,

Thanks Loophole- Interesting. What would that price be in American dollars?

Thanks one and all. I will do some more investigating. But if someone wanted it I am bound by the price I stated. I don't want any problems. GR

No one has offered to buy it. Just put on the post "Item Withdrawn". No one will think the less of you. 600 pounds in US dollars is about $800.00.

Pard, I ain't looking for a sword, but I'd be obliged if you withdrew the item but left this thread up. There is some real interesting information here.

BTW, somebody owes me an hour or two. :D

I will leave it as I do not know when it would normally come off anyway

Thanks Sweet for the info. I have had it since I was a teenager so I don't know where I got it
