Break Free® CLP®

I have used Thompson/Center Natural Lube 1000 Plus Bore Butter since I bought my first black powder gun 30 years ago.  It seems to work OK, If I clean the guns every 5 stages.  Last Saturday I forgot to bring a tube of it and cleaned my wife's and mine Rugers after 5 stages with .357 full cases of Hodgdon  777 using windex as always and put on 5 or 6  drops of Break Free® CLP® on each gun.

Sunday  we shot 5 more stages (both clean!) and I (and Leia ) was Amazed! at how much better the guns functioning was at the end of shooting.  Little black fouling was visible on the cylinder face and the cylinder spun like it was just cleaned.

I put CLP in the search box above and several references came up pointing at Froglube, Hornady One Shot, even WD40 professional.  CLP was mid pack in one big comparison test.  My conclusion is don't ignore the possibility that a new product may be better, test for yourself and you may be pleasantly surprised as we were.

Ballistol  is my Choice. Windex with vinegar & water for cleaning BP.

I still use Hoppe's No. 9 for my bullseye guns.

Is there an 85+ category yet?
