I just glanced at the first line. Read the ( as a 1. 1905. 12 inches of rain...

 

Thought the 1905 was the end of a sentence, which explained the .

 

12 inches of rain? That's a world record? :huh:

that is a parentheses - not a 1.  The measurement is nine hundred five and 12/100 inches of rain which is a HUGE amount.
