Guest Kasey00
Just picked up a used 45LC ‘73 as a backup to my 357 lever gun online2pdf and looking for brass and dies. I have couple hundred 44RemMag cases for trade. Also looking for 45LC cowboy dies, prefer RCBS. Looking at the specs comparing 44RMag to 45LC and wondering if I can form the 44RMag into 45LC by shooting a light lead load in the 1873. I’ve done that to wildcat a chambering in a bolt gun before dreamhost. My son even made wildcat brass by shooting compacted cornstarch in order to not put wear on a competition long range barrel. Any and almost all advice welcome. This is really archaic, and now many shell manufacturers also state the power of the propellant in terms of muzzle velocity – the velocity of the shot as it leaves the muzzle. In fact, sometimes the box states only the muzzle velocity, and not the “Dr. Eq.”
