Chili Pepper Pete 11917
I need help identifying a box of old Winchester Ammo I found at a garage sale. If anyone can shed any light on what I found and what its worth I would be much obliged. Thank you, Chili
Rafe Conager SASS #56958
I believe that you have an early box of 30-30 Winchester ammo. Made specific for the 1894 Winchester in 30 cal. Rafe
Chili Pepper Pete 11917
Thx. I saw that on the box but was curious when it was made and my online search didn’t really help. Also I know people collect such things and wondered what it might be worth Thanks again
Cypress Sun
The glasses are worth about $5.00, I don't know what the ammo/box is worth.
Chili Pepper Pete 11917
That would be a good deal for me, Them there glasses are my dollar store specials “Wink”
John Boy
The box is worth more than the ammo because it is a two piece
Warden Callaway
At one time I ran across an ammo collector exchange board. My try Google search.
Cholla
I would guess it to be 1900-1930 era and worth $50-$100 from the little I have seen. I use stuff like this as props for my photos that I use for articles. I assume you got it for a song, so good find. I should be so lucky. Edit: Here's a box for $325. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/837597525

Cholla
Keep in mind condition is everything. The one in the auction is sealed, unopened, so it is substantially higher than one on worn condition. I recommend taking it to a gun show and find a ammo collector dealer (Not just an ammo dealer.) and see what they feel it's worth. I'm going to guess much lower than the $325. Or check out Gunbrokers' completed auctions to see what they are actually selling for. Either way, keep it safe as it is a cool piece of history. Yul Lose
That’s definitely a nice find. $200-$350.00 for sure. Condition is everything and that appears to be in pretty good condition.
Tom Bullweed
There is a 9-18 stamp on the label. Sept. 1918 manufacture. Definitely .30-30.
Savvy Jack
Looks like the label dates are 7-15 and 9-15, so it looks to be a "Veritety 5" dated 1915-1916 with the full "Model 94" callout. Rarity 3 = $125 - $
Arkansas Jim 107095
Looks like one round has a Remington head stamp. The primer is also different. Appears there are 19 of the original
Dusty Devil Dale
Forgive me for being unfamiliar with the ammo itself, but in the pic, some of the primers look struck. Or were they manufactured with that dent or stamp?
Chili Pepper Pete 11917
Thank you all for the information, that was a huge help. Good eye on the one Remington shell, I never would have caught that and really haven’t look at the shells that much as for fear of ruining the box. Thank you all again Best regards, Chili
Constable Nelson #11784
Forgive me for being unfamiliar with the ammo itself, but in the pic, some of the primers look struck. Or were they manufactured with that dent or stamp? Manufactured with that shape...
