Charlie MacNeil, SASS #48580
Does anybody load these? A good friend has asked me to load some with Speer shotshell capsules but I’m not sure how to go about it. Help?
BLACKFOOT SASS #11947
I remember there being basic instructions on the box. If more information is needed try the Speer web page. Blackfoot
Rowdy Ranger Rick
There were a couple threads a couple years back that discussed this on the SASS Wire, relative to snake control...I couldn't locate the threads though. Load data and instructions are included with the Speer shot capsules... https://www.midwayusa.com/s?userSearchQuery=speer+shot+shell&userItemsPerPage=48 Here's a good video... I made some in .45 LC and .44 Mag. with both milk carton shot cards as cap and glued, and a gas check as the cap. Both were roll crimped. There are several YouTube videos showing this. Here's one... The Original Lumpy Gritz
Be very careful when seating and case mouth crimping. Those plastic capsules crack easily. I get my best results using Unique powder. OLG
H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619
I have had good success by filling the capsule with shot, and then using the Trailboss "Formula" to determine how much powder to put behind the capsule, which I treat as if it were a bullet. Crisco
I will just add that the smaller the shot, the better they will perform out of a pistol. If you can find a few ounces of #12 you will be impressed by how they work.
Imis Twohofon,SASS # 46646
I have loaded them for a 10 1/2 in SBH when I owned a snake haven in the country. Works well, instruction on the box Imis
