Holiday 'Christmas' movies on TV

This year, I'm making it a priority to once again, watch some of my favorite classics that I have

enjoyed over the years..... BUT for various reasons, just didn't watch them the past couple years.

White Christmas

Its a Wonderful LIfe

Miracle on 34th Street (both versions)

AND... probably a couple of 'The Waltons'  episodes.

Christmas with the Kranks

Of course, at the top of the list will be Christmas episodes of Andy and Barney (Andy Griffith Show).

What are YOUR favs?

P.S. - I'm not a big fan of the 'Hallmark' Christmas TV shows because they all have the same theme

and same players.   I mean, just how many times can Ms. 'ABC'  become a widow, move back to her

home town with mom & dad, meet Mr. XYZ (local deacon at Church), fall in love and get remarried.

It gets old.

I agree. The Lifetime and Hallmark movies are ridiculous.

A few more classics:

A Christmas Carol. I prefer the 1951version with Alistair Sim

National Lampoon’s ChristmasVacation

Pretty sure that this was a Hallmark, but I like it anyhow. A Grandpa for Christmas. With Ernest Borgnine as Grandpa.

My all time favorite "A Christmas Story" plus:

Die Hard

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (animated)

How the Grinch Stole  Christmas (animated)

Frosty the Snow Man (animated)

Nat' Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

Elf

Home Alone

Oh, and The Mouse and the Motorcycle. I know it's  not a Christmas show but I like watching it at Christmas time

 Home Alone. I liked Bad Mom's Christmas and will look for Bad Santa, it has good reviews for hilarity.

Bad Santa is quite heartwarming in a Billy Bob Thornton kind of way.

I thoroughly dislike Jim Carrey, yet I enjoy the animated version of A Christmas Carol with him voicing multiple roles.  Maybe because I don’t have to see him in person. I love the soundtrack music.

I also revisit John Wayne’s The Three Godfathers at least once each Christmas season.

Whatever your preferences, here’s hoping you and yours enjoy the next few months of holidays and lousy weather and re-emerge next spring in good luck, health, and happiness.  :)

Almost all my favorites have been mentioned.

i like any B&W story with Christmas in it from the 30’s thru the 50”s.

Plus, there’s these two more recent movies:

A Christmas Story

The Holiday

Cat Brules

Check out "The Christmas Chronicles" with Kurt Russel as Santa.  It's only a year old, so no classic (yet) but it's very good.

Remember the Night.

District Attorney Fred MacMurray takes shoplifter Barbara Stanwyck to spend Christmas with him at his mother's farm.

Posted

Nestor the Long Earred Christmas Donkey

Was only shown once. Fairly sad but a Christmas story never-the-less.
