Which reference book for Old West cartridges would you recommend. Both  'Cartridges of the World' and 'Ammo Encyclopedia recommended members on the SASS wire .

Mike Venturino’s books are great for historical loading info.

After years of reading posts on the Wire, it's obvious the vast majority of SASS members don't own reference books and will never buy any.  They just want a powder charge for bullets they have and come to the Wire for their answers

Now for the minority that reload and want to obtain their own information, there are a minimum of 3 books:

* Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook 4Th Edition ... https://www.amazon.com/Lyman-Cast-Bullet-Handbook-4Th/dp/B07PSNM3KV

* Lyman Shotshell Handbook 2nd Edition ... https://www.amazon.com/Lyman-Shotshell-Handbook-2nd-Ramage/dp/B000EHI52E/ref=pd_sbs_200_img_2/132-5869045-3355122?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B000EHI52E&pd_rd_r=6da897f2-a480-4321-9de3-a7fce1babf1f&pd_rd_w=3uYjE&pd_rd_wg=SnygR&pf_rd_p=5cfcfe89-300f-47d2-b1ad-a4e27203a02a&pf_rd_r=YJES8W85XV09Y2P7N7HD&psc=1&refRID=YJES8W85XV09Y2P7N7HD

* Phil Sharps's Complete Guide to Handloading ... https://www.amazon.com/Complete-Guide-Handloading-Revision-Treastise/dp/B001O8585Y/ref=pd_sbs_14_t_0/132-5869045-3355122?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B001O8585Y&pd_rd_r=650dd76e-11bc-40fd-8750-ac059639e960&pd_rd_w=fn1eT&pd_rd_wg=gMoTL&pf_rd_p=5cfcfe89-300f-47d2-b1ad-a4e27203a02a&pf_rd_r=94DGZ89YBBR7WMVZNM81&psc=1&refRID=94DGZ89YBBR7WMVZNM81
