You start with a square piece of paper. Well Dam, ridiculous number of decades on, got it in one. At least in my grade school the chant that went along was "Ink a bink a bottle of ink the cork fell out and you stink " - numbers added sometimes 1,2,3,4. Quote
Alpo Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 21 minutes ago, Rip Snorter said: Ink a bink a bottle of ink the cork fell out and you stink Shouldn't that be NOW you stink? The rhythm falls apart the way you wrote it Ink a bink A bottle of ink The cork fell out And you stink That last line definitely needs another syllable. So I believe it would be "now you stink". Congratulations on remembering how to fold it though. That's impressive. Quote
Alpo Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 It's interesting how sometimes those old chants will come crawling up out of memory. I think, operative word here is think, this one is used to keep the rhythm in double Dutch. My mama told me If I was goody That she would buy me A rubber dolly So please don't tell her I kissed a feller Or she won't buy me That rubber dolly Three six nine, the goose drank wine Monkey chewed tobacco on a streetcar line The line broke, the monkey got choked And they all went to heaven on a little red boat, clap clap Quote
