It's less math, more observation.

earbuds = 10 per pair

person = 5 each

watch = 4  per pair

So -- last line:

1 earbud = 5

1 watch = 2

1 person = 5

BUT WAIT! The person in the final line is wearing a pair of earbuds AND a watch!

Therefore, person with pair of earbuds and a watch = 17

Therefore, final equation is 5 + 17 X 2

Order of ops with no parentheses, brackets, or exponents is multiply and divide left to right, then add and subtract left to right

So

5  + 34

39

Edited, because I noticed the person is also wearing a watch. Such fun:wacko:

Sum of yous guys iz smart! I ar not…

Fun brain teaser! :)

Line 1:   OK, three pairs of pipes = 30, 1 pair = 10, 1 pipe = 5.

Line 2:   1 pair of pipes = 10.     20 – 10 = 2 people, so 1 person = 5.

Line 3:   13 – 1 person = 8, so 2 pair of phones = 8, and 1 pair = 4, and 1 phone = 2.

Line 4:   Therefore, if 1 pipe = 5, 1 person = 5, and 1 phone = 2, then, 5 + 5 + 2 = 12.

This was fun!

Thank you, sir, may I have another?  :D

Look again at the last line. The last symbol is a multiplication sign. The answer is 20. I rest my case.
