Flying W Ramrod
Has anyone used cheycast bullets with their bp lube? How is the fouling in the long guns using these? thanks
Crisco
Last time I bought any they were lubed with SPG, the best there is, but the bullet design doesn't really carry enough of it to completely avoid some hard fouling buildup up toward the muzzle. Easy enough to deal with by swabbing the bore every couple or three stages, but can't really be ignored.
Flying W Ramrod
They say they're using their own BP lube. Wanting to get some .401's. Going to start shooting Classic, Classic Cowboy. All ammo BP

Contact Springfield Slim, he makes all kinds. A bullet with a "standard" lube groove will leave hard fouling in the last several inches. Maybe a 16" barrel would be OK but mine aren't. Trooper Ozzy
I use the big lube bullets for the rifle (24" barrel) and Missouri BP or Cheycast BP for the revolvers (5.5" barrel). No leading problems.
John Boy
Quote Has anyone used cheycast bullets with their bp lube? If Evil Roy endorses and uses CheyCast - why even ask if the bullets are good As for fouling I wouldn't worry about it because foul is black powder residue
