Cat Brules
We were discussing various in another topic, that, I guess, was subsequently deleted. Hmmm....... Anyway, as we discussed characters in “Gone With The Wind,” Butterfly McQueen, who perfectly portrayed the hysterical, frightened child of the Hattie McDaniel character was mentioned. NO ONE who saw the movie will ever forget her! Here’s an interesting, short, later-in-life YouTube interview with Butterfly McQueen: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Qy90YiCon3M Cat Brules

Warden Callaway
Stepin Fetchit played a stereotype character of his own making. In real life he was the first African American actor to be a millionaire.
Cat Brules
I’m pretty sure(?) that Prissy was supposed to be Mammy’s child. I just did a quick Internet search, but I can’t confirm that Prissy was Mammy’s child. All I could find is a reference to Prissy as “a slave girl”. MAYBE there was a reference to that in the movie, or the book; I don’t know. Well, as they say, “If it ain’t true, it oughtta be!” :-). I’ll look some more later. powder river rose
Prissy was Scarlett's maid but not Mammy's child. "The reason Prissy claims to know all about midwifery is that her mother, Dilcey (a Tara house servant who's not in the film), is also a midwife. Prissy, however, has never been allowed to participate." Excerpt from Gone With The Wind: The definitive illustrated history of the book, the movie, and the legend by Herb Bridges and Terryl C Boodman. So now we all know.
