There's a difference between coated and plated. Copper washed/coated bullets are acceptable, it's just a coating; moly, hytek, etc.

AJ, can you post a picture of the shot for clarification.

But the SHB (p.26) states for revolver and rifle bullets:

"May not be jacketed, semi-jacketed, plated, gas checked, or copper washed. It
must be all lead. Moly-Disulfide, polymer coated bullets, or equivalents are
acceptable."

I was looking at an outdated SHB....

There is copper wash that some think is a copper coating. It was deemed acceptable many years back. My reading comprehension is just fine. It just gives lead a slight copper tint. If I'm not mistaken it was Rimrock bullet company out of Montana. However, that was 20+ years back.

the only "copper" that I know of being allowed is for the polymer copper colored coated bullets of late,,,    I was against the new coating being allowed in copper color because of telling the polymer coating and copper coated or washed..  imho

That quote is from an outdated version of the SHB.

The current version states:

Quote

REVOLVER AND RIFLE AMMUNITION

- May not be jacketed, semi-jacketed, plated, or gas checked.  It must be all lead.

Moly-Disulfide, polymer coated bullets, or equivalents are acceptable.

SHB p.27

The "copper washed" prohibition has been deleted, as it is not the same as "plated".
