Abilene, SASS # 27489
Nice try Warden, but the receiver sight is not allowed and the magazine is an external modification.
Marshal Hangtree
Gotta have one of these! I can at least get through a 10 shot rifle stage without a miss! Maybe.
Warden Callaway
If they would have used the concept with just one long tube, the would have had a design that loaded from the rear and could mount a wooden forend.

Cat Brules
I realize it is a “proof of concept,” prototype rifle, so each of the three tube magazines would have to hold more cartridges for this to be a reasonably viable design. The Henry production rifle magazine held/holds 16 rounds. This experimental design holds 7 rounds in each of the three tube magazines.....21 rounds total. So, the experimental rifle, as it stands, adds only 5 rounds to the total capacity. In my view, each of the three rotary tubes would have to hold a minimum ten rounds to offset a bulky, (almost certain) malfunction-prone magazine system. I do not know how old this prototype weapon is, however, it doesn’t seem to be something I’d want to trust my life to. Obviously, after putting a sharp pencil to it and considering its complexities, Win/Henry shelved the project in its infancy (when that was, we don’t know). Too bad we don’t know more about the concept, including when it was built, and reasons for its development.. Cat Brules
