The Paint Horse Gun Cart For Sale

Yul Lose

Recommended Posts

I’m running out of room for gun carts in my corral. I’ll be building another to add to the corral so this one has to go. The Paint Horse Cart is constructed out of African Black Limba and if you know anything about that species of wood you’ll understand how much lumber I had to sort through and mill to get the figure that makes this gun cart. I had Double Diamond tool emboss and paint the Indian on the Paint Horse  so that it would kind of mate with the wood pattern on the roll top door and I think he nailed it. Anywhere you take this cart you’ll have people checking it out, sometimes you have to fight them off.

The roll top door will open and close with one finger, the action is that smooth. I built this cart last spring and summer and it’s been to 15-20 matches. I’ll throw in a new umbrella with it, your choice of colors. I can’t ship it but I can bring it to Winter Range or if you live out west or southwest maybe we can meet halfway. If you’d like any specific pictures, other than the ones posted below let me know and I’ll try to get you the photos you need. This is the only cart I’ve ever built with this type of wheels where I’ve used the 3/4” bearings that came with the wheels and the 3/4” axles that I built for it. I wanted it to have a few unique features and that’s one of them.

As you can see the joinery is predominantly through dovetail with sliding dovetails where needed and mortise and tenon joinery for the back panel. Should you want a different configuration for the long gun set up that’s not a problem and I’ll change it however you want.

There are probably over 200 hours of labor in this cart and the lumber was over $18.00 per board foot. I’m asking $3,400.00 OBO, some trades considered.

Will deliver West of the Mississippi.

That is an amazing piece of art. I'm not sure I could bring myself to take that out of the house. And this is a cull to make room for another?

Wow.

Thank you for the compliment. Yes, I’m getting ready to build another themed cart that I’ve been thinking about for awhile.

Yul Lose - you are a master craftsman!  Beautiful work!  Way too nice to take the abuse in cowboy shooting - truly a work of art.

You are seeing history, these will not be around forever, I wish I could have like a “herd” of these things all parked together, and think, well, which one today? Again you have outdone yourself !
