In your opinion what was Tom Selleck's zenith western? The one where he was at his peak as a cowboy. The best story, best scenery, cast, etc. His best performance. Whataya think?

Since it is my favorite, I'll say Quigley Down Under.

I will say the best cast of any western he was in had to be The Sacketts.

1. Monte Walsh

It had a good amount of Cowboy, appropriate romance,  cowboy attitudes (from being a jokester to suicide),

friendships, fights, deaths, etc..... and a brief look at our history in the making.

2.  Quigley

..........Widder

That's like asking me to choose a favorite from 5 premium single malts! All are great. I lean towards Crossfire Trail, Quigley & Monte Walsh.

And all this time I thought Zenith was a TV...wonder will never cease.

Watched some of the new series Magnum PI and just not the same without Tom Selleck, at least the new Magnum should have a mustache!

My favorite to watch is Quigley.

But I think I would go with Monte Walsh as the top of the heap.

A sad note: If you Google images of Selleck you get about a zillion of him as Magnum, some Blue Bloods and red carpet pics and ALMOST NO COWBOY PICS!

Based on the above, the polling so far shows:

9.3 - Quigley Down Under

6.8 - Monte Walsh

2.3 - Crossfire Creek

2.0 - The Sacketts

1.5 - Last Stand at Sabers River

Note: Decimals were used when a response was split

Quigley Down Under.

I always thought Lee Marvin was a better Monte Walsh.

I tend to agree. Selleck could never be as worn out and grizzled as Marvin.

But as far as remakes go, it was done very well.
