Utah Bob #35998
Got quite a crop of Yellow Jackets this year. In fact the town about 10 miles south of us is named Yellow Jacket. They're really thick today. Maybe getting ready for Halloween of something. I got out another WHY wasp trap and set it up. You cut open the little foul packet and put some attractant in the two chambers and hang it in a likely place .....which is just outside the man cave right now. So I was hanging it when I realized I had spilt some of the attractant on my shirt. It works well. This led to a few interesting cardio minutes. The Navajo would probably call it the Wasp Dance if there is such a thing. And there should be.

Father Kit Cool Gun Garth
Some of their nests can grow to become "super nests". This one with estimated 15,000 yellow jackets. Of course your first thought would be similar to mine....unless the building was abandoned, vacant, etc., how does a homeowner allow this to grow? Even surrounding neighbors should have noticed the nest, long before it ever got to this size.
