Street names after the town?

Another Superman. He's riding in a convertible in a tickertape parade.

Down Metropolis Blvd.

A street named after the town?

I can think of Hollywood Boulevard. But any other place?

Denver Boulevard? Dallas Boulevard? Spokane Boulevard? Paris Boulevard? London Avenue? Moscow Boulevard?

Here in where I'm from we have Austin st, Galveston, Boston, and many others. Sounds like your Superman comic just couldn't think up something better. Or didn't care to.

I lived in the town of Kennilworth, NJ when I was a kid.  The main drag through town was named "Boulevard" !!  Not "The Boulevard"  or some "___________ Boulevard".  Just "Boulevard"!!

Always thought that that was kinda' weird...

Going East from Highway 41 in Fresno you cross Fresno Street.  The next block is First Street.  First is second after Fresno.  Still bugs me.

OT... another thing that bugs the heck outta me is streets that change names.  Same street; different name after a certain distance.  Seems to be a Fresno and Seattle area thing.  silly.gif

Then do NOT go to the Boston area. Looking at a map, Boston looks like a big city, it's not. It's a bunch of small towns all gathered together. And every time you go from one to another, the street name changes.

It happens in Hanover, PA.  PA Route 94 goes into the town square.  From the town square go south and it's Baltimore Street, and go north it's Carlisle Street.  That's the names for boroughs or cities  that the road goes to.

Mayfield Road (US 322) goes right through Mayfield Heights, Ohio and right past one of my favorite gun shops, Mayfield Guns.

Nah, it happens all over.

There's a road in Columbus, GA that had 4 different names along its' length before they decided to name the whole thing Veteran's Parkway.
