People are lazy.

I had a stump.100_0712.jpg.7ab57ed7c8bd87fe2ce2158b0b969906.jpg

I dug around it.

Using a few basic tools

I winched the sucker out.

with no risk of damage to my truck.

Or to neighbors, if those straps/chains/cables snapped

Who needs a truck?

Heck...you don't even need a rope or strap.

Just use a car! :o

@Alpo,

      I'm with you pardner.

      I have removed many a tree stump by merely digging around it to expose the entire root system, then systematically cutting the roots and voila...no stump problem.

But don’t chain saw the roots unless you’re ready to sharpen the chain

Ya gotta do what ya gotta do. It helps to have a couple of 16 year olds with axes on hand. :D
