Grizzly Dave
In the process of getting it scheduled on my left thumb. Anyone had it done? How soon before you were back shooting?
Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217
Hi Dave, I've had it done. It has been great. No pain, no arthritis in the thumb. The rest of the hand has not fared so well. I had surgery in my wrist too (Keinbock's Disease). I had it done in December 2005 (sometime after the 10th, that was my last match in December) and did not shoot again until March 19, 2006. Grizzly Dave
Thanks for the input Allie. Good to hear that it worked for you and sorry about the rest of your hands. As they say, getting old ain't for sissies.
Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217
PS My healing time might have been longer due to the wrist surgery (four bones removed). However, the doctor told me that tendon grafts, which was done to the thumb to replace the basal joint, tend to take longer to heal. PPS If you don't hear from Snakebite, you might PM him as he has also had this surgery. I can't remember if it was in 2018 or 2017.

Fascinating stuff, amazing what they can do. I've watched several of the surgeries on youtube. Pretty sure with a sharp pen knife and a fifth of rye you could do it. I think I'll still go to the surgeon though...
Grizzly Dave
Sawbones said 6 weeks in a cast and then start strength and range of motion therapy, sounds like dry fire drills to me....
