OKLAHOMA UPDATE:

I called my good 'old' buddy Red Knee (of Oklahoma fame) this afternoon to check on him.

He told me he was relaxing out by the pool.

I said:  what's that funny 'beeping' sound and sudden 'crash' type sound I hear.

He said it was the kids, jumping off a squeaking diving board and 'spashing' in the water.

YEA......... Red Knee don't have a pool, and he surely don't have any kids either.

It was the timer 'beep' and his SG 'Gomer' blasting away.    Sounded like he's gonna

burn em down next week..... ;)

Sure hope my broke arm continues to heal!

Let's set the record straight......

I missed a call from his Widderness....so I called him back.

"Hello", he said, "you got a second, listen to this"...and it ended up in a 45 minute call listening to him practice his 97......

So he's a bit nervous about something or someone, cause he was down on the farm burning up boxes of shells in 95+ heat.....

Hhmmmm, what or who can it be that causes such concern?????

Well, that is partly true.

I've been wanting to gather some memorabilia and add to my 'Mayberry' collection.

I needed a couple hats worn by Gomer and Goober.    Gomer wore that long bill ball cap and

Goober wore that other 'clown' cap.

Anyhow, I called the "Gomer-Goober" fan club listed on Google and Red Knee answered the phone.

I admit that I was overwhelmingly surprised..... RED KNEE actually is Prez of the Gomer-Goober

fan club.

Thats why he has named his SG's as such.     Gomer is the one that whenever it fires 6 shots in a row under 6 seconds,

Red Knee is "Surprise, Surprise, Surprised.

And Goober is the one that just hangs around and looks funny.

Now you know the rest of the story.

Howdy EVIL.

95 degrees might seem a little warm to most folks, but just about anything above 80, especailly

anything above 90, is how I like it.

On the other side, I can't stand 45 degree or less.  And I ain't crazy about 50ish either.

As for practicing in 95,  I admit that I'm mostly in the shade..... :D

There once was a man

with a '97 in his hand.

In just about a week

He'll cull out the meek.

We'll see how he will fare

against the man with red hair.

Who gets to stick out their chest

and proclaim themself best?

It really doesn't matter a bit

cause we all know who eats the best nanner split!

Actually, there is a cold front coming in today and is going to cool us off tremendously.

High is only supposed to be 90.

When it get's below 50 Widder goes into hibernation and we don't see him again till spring.

Cold weather ain't my friend.   For me, I'm loving these hot summer days.

Of course, it helps when I have some shade and a big ole glass of the Bunkhouse Boss ice tea.

Yes, we should gain a few more, but I expect most entries are in.

Hey Randy,

Did Red Knee register Gomer and Goober?

I understand he's causing 'tremors' out in OK with his lightning fast shooting.

Forecast is looking like 60' and 70's for the match. Tomorrow is the last 90 degree forecast for the next 10 days anyway.

I didn't see Gomer or Goober on the shooters list, just Red Knee.

Getting more excited every day, hope to see everyone in a few days.

Don't forget "Are You Tough Enough To Wear Pink"

The RO1 class should be interesting with everyone wearing pink.  I just hope we'll be done in time to see the Widder vs. Red Knee speed SG match.  If the class isn't over by then maybe we'll be lucky enough to be on a break.   ;)

He's waited till I'm old and feeble to come back to Tennessee.

I just hope I got enough left to make him work for it..... ;)

I fear that Red Knee is gonna whoop me with the 'special' lubed shells I've got for him.

He'll be using one of his special 97's that was recovered from an Oklahoma Super

Heavy Intractable Tornado..... :o

I understand when he takes it out of the bag, it starts sounding like a train roaring

thru the club grounds.

Hey, I don't make this stuff up.

I may have asked this before but before I get on the road (Tuesday), does anyone want me to bring them some cajun cracklin?  This is not the kind you get in the supermarket, if you've ever been to southern Louisiana you might have tried them, it's kind of like bacon with a kick.

Tequila,

Normally, I would want some.

Mom use to fry up some good fat-back and I loved it with beans, or most anything.

But because I battle high cholesterol,   I better not indulge.

TN Williams might want some.   Heck, he'd probably love it with a Nanner Split.....

Does anyone know if any of the vendors will have the new "spring loaded seats" for Rugged Gear carts?

I'd like to buy one.

@Rolan Kraps, SASS # 24084 Life if you're talking about the seat that Rugged Gear sells I saw it 2 weeks ago at Comin' at Cha, I thought it was a little small, it's about half the seating area of the folding ones at Walley World.  I suggest seeing it in person, if you can, find a shoot that Rugged Gear will be at.

Yes, that is the one.  I like it because I can't leave it behind like the ones from Walmart!

Hope the weather is great and the stages are fast 'n' fun!!

I checked out some of the shooters and categories yesterday and I must say that

Gunfighter is one TOUGH category at the TN state this year.

I truly hope ALL of them shoot well.   GF's could dominate some of the high spots

in the OVERALL finish.

And I'm on a Posse with 3 of them..... :)

And I will admit that SrGF ain't gonna be no cakewalk either.   Some of these fellers will show you

'No Mercy' when they lay down their shooting skills on the firing line..... :o
