On 17 September 1939, the Soviet Union invaded Poland from the east, sixteen days after Germany invaded Poland from the west. ... Some 320,000 Polish prisoners of war had been captured. The campaign of mass persecution in the newly acquired areas began immediately.

Stalin annexed the territory to USSRand banned Polish as a language. After the war things changed in the new Polish territories.,

The Poles, for all the jokes about them, are a tough and resilient people.  Invaded  many times throughout history, they remain.  Where are those who invaded Poland?

On the ashheap of history.
