This would ultimately mean only electricity or wood and wood pellets. After a to be specified year, no gas or oil burning appliances can be installed, etc. my personal experience is that the electric company has never been my friend. below 20°F everything electric is more expensive. We don’t have so many “new folk” that it would pass at town meeting. i hate cooking with electricity. i know there are companies proving the use of geothermal energy, but we have the wrong town for that to pass. Maybe by then we will have fusion power and won't need so much of fossil fuels. OTOH, there is NO WAY you can do without fossil fuel, or at least the byproducts. Petroleum is used to make everything from paints to medicines. Same with coal and coal byproducts. Those tree-hugging idiots think they will solve all the world's pollution problems by outlawing stuff...just like the antis. They need to take a look at Beijing on any given day. Smog so bad, you can hardly see the sun! Need to get the PRC onboard to solve the pollution. Don't see that happening anytime soon. Technology is the only hope. But, she is a rabid climate control freak. She actually calls it a climate emergency.
