I was looking through a list of movies to be released soon and saw this one.

The Last Full Measure supposed to be released this year sometime. Its about a Vietnam vet who is awarded the Medal Of Honor posthumously. 50 years posthumously. Okay I get that .

What I don't get is this poster promo. Anybody see anything weird here?

I was not over there but I wonder about the clothing of the man being carried. Did the US Army allow shorts? The boots look more like “desert boots” similar in height to those I wore in the US Navy. Not like my vision of combat boots I vaguely remember from that era.

The original movie poster for The Great Raid (a WW2 movie) showed a soldier aiming a Beretta M9. Fortunately the movie itself was more period-correct. The ding-dongs who create the movie posters often have no clue about stuff like that so I guess you have to just learn to put up with it.

All I can think is the Producer said, "Put a pic of a soldier carrying a guy on the poster".

The two guys in the background are similarly accoutered incorrectly. Then they photoshopped a Huey in it.

Looks like it might be from The Thin Red Line but I don't recall any helmet nets in that.

Could the soldier be other than U.S.?

Which one? The casualty? Looks like it.

Didn’t the Brit’s and possibly the Aussie’s wrap their calves under their shorts? I think the Australian’s joined us in Vietnam.

I’ve not seen any pics of ANZAC troops wearing those since WWII.

Perhaps Major Crimes will chime in on this thread

The butt and legs are from a WWI pic of Gallipoli. A guy on line spotted it.

They flipped the image and inserted it in the pic.

Well, for one thing that must be one strong soldier to carry a guy over his shoulder like that without even hunching over.

It's easy to stand up straight when the guy isn't really there. :D

Soldier in the foreground is wearing WWII gear.

Soldier on the left has a PRC 6 radio, rarely used.

Sleeves rolled down. Musette bag on left soldier.

M1 Garand stock protruding under arm on right soldier.

The Aussies that I saw over there were all working on or in Canberra Bombers and usually dressed in long trousers and long sleeved shirts because of the unofficial VC Air Force: bugs and critters of all sizes and descriptions.

Seriously, that’s impressive research.

Also a likely indicator this movie will be unimpressive. Peter Fonda? Really?

Opens in October. It’s a story about a real hero, regardless of the political leanings of the actors. I will remain cautiously optimistic.

Geez, Bob, you must have one heck of a magnifying glass or big screen monitor to see that stuff.  I can barely see those two guys, much less recognize any gear.

I guess that's why you're "The Man".  :D

Actually, what's REALLY weird is that anyone would make a promo poster and be so lazy as to use the default Times New Roman font.

The media just announced that Fonda is dead. That’s all I’ll say

I always got Peter Fonda confused with Peter Coyote. Peter Fonda is Henry Fonda's son, but Peter Coyote has a voice that sounds exactly like Henry Fonda's and narrated all the Ken Burns documentaries.
