Marlin '92 [in wrong caliber]

Recommended Posts

A feller brought me in 5 old rifles to appraise.

None are really anything that I would want for myself.

They are a bit rough and would be a tough sell anyway, I reckon.

1.  Marlin '92 lever action octagon .32 rimfire

2.  Winchester Low Wall falling block octagon .32 rimfire

3.  Remington Rolling block octagon .32 rimfire

4.  Hopkins & Allen falling block octagon .32 rimfire

5.  Winchester M1873 (mfd 1888) round .44 WCF

My questions are:

Has anyone ever successfully converted a Low Wall (in rimfire) to centerfire?

How about converting a 'Marlin '92 to centerfire?  How much $$?

Much obliged,

Mustang

I always thought I'd get a Marlin 92 in 32.  I've seen a couple at reasonable prices but just didn't want one bad enough.  Problem is,  even the 32 cente fire is all but obsolete.  It's a 32 Colt.  Some have rechambered them in 32 S&W that is a more available.

Here's a Potterfield video showing rim to center fire conversion.

I sent Roberson Ct Co a couple of modified 32 Long RF cases that has the rim fire slot cut on the head and the primer pocket enlarged to accept a 6mm Flobert primer. Roberson modified their CNC program for the 32 Long CF cases to make them 32 Long rim fires. Now has 50 rimfire cases with no need to bush a rimfire block to center fire for the firing pin
