Short stroke Rugers

Recommended Posts

I have a couple new Ruger Bisley's and need them short stroked, any recommendations.  Johnny M did my last pair but he retired.

Lassiter did 2 pairs of NMV's for Ophelia & me about 5 years ago. They were absolutely perfect! I later converted to full strokes with Jimmy Spurs. Doc Kemm bought one pair of the short strokes from me, & last time I asked, he said they're still running strong.

Another vote for Lassiter.  He's done both of my sets.

No firsthand experience but I've been told Snake Oil George also does an awesome job.

Three cut does great work I have friends that have his short strokes they feel great but my joe Perkins feel as good and both there strokes joe vs three cut are basically the same I know three cut told me 400 for the short stroke and joe was 275 . You can’t go wrong with either both are great gunsmiths.

I like my Shotgun Boogie short strokes that I installed myself.

I've done 4 of them and they all run great.

I shoot one set and Shotgun Shannon shoots the other set.

I also have a set that Johnny Meadows did that are equally great.

We shoot 3 sets of Shotgun Boogie and 2 sets of Lassiter.  Both do excellent work.

Putting you on the spot, which set would you say have the shorter stroke, Boogie’s or Lassiter’s?

I would say no difference in the length of the stroke.    Because Lassiters hammers are cut and welded, it is hard to be exact.  I would shoot either firearm.
