Doc Shapiro
Somewhere along the way I ended up with a box of 1000 Rio shotshell primers. Since I'm now out of Federal primers, I'm looking at this box... Anyone use them? How do they compare to the Federal primers?
Nickel City Dude
The Rio's will work fine but they are slightly larger than the Federal so once you have used them in a hull the primer pocket my be too large for the Federals. The Federals may fall out.
G W Wade
My relpy goes with Nickle City Dude. My chart shows Rio to be the largest 209 's available. GW
Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971
When primers were in short supply I used Rio 209s in my BP shotgun shells. I toss these after one use so I don't care if the primers enlarge the primer hole. The Rios all ignited and were reasonably priced too. I would use them again for BP loads.
