Hey OLG,

looks good. My rcbs has gotten quite discolored from powder and I empty it after each session

thx for the info

Gringo.   I have a Sinclair conversion on my RCBS Uniflow that I like very much. It consists of an adapter that mounts on the body that accepts Hodgdon 1# bottles or they offer.  You never remove the powder from the Hodgdon bottle. You just invert your measure, then unscrew the bottle eliminating the chance of pouring your powder into the wrong bottle.     GW         Sorry do not know how to post links

Just installed one on my Dillon 550.

Could not be more pleased:excl: ;)

Thank You!  I just ordered one!  I leave the powder in the hopper between loading sessions (unless its for a long period of time) and they are getting cloudy.  I like the one that holds 30% more powder, perfect for 5.56 reloading...

I did not realize leaving 700X would damage the hopper.  I tend to just leave it in since I'm trying to catch up on my loading.  I may pick up a couple of these, mainly for the longer tube for my 900 so I could put a full pound of 777 in it for my BP shotgun loads... :)

Did you get the standard size or the bigger one? I’m also wondering if the better sealing top is worth the $10?

I ordered the std size w/2.0 cap. I think he sent me the med one.

It is about 3" taller than the OEM Dillon hopper.

I have had them "bookmarked" for years.

Would love to know if anyone has any experience with installing one on a Hornady.

There's a threaded and non-threaded(older)PM's, which is yours?

Email the owner and talk to him, he's very good on comms.

This is a side job for him, so it might take a day to reply.

Ordered one just now. Been meaning to but kept forgetting. I usually leave powder in my 650,  hasn’t ever been an issue, but I know the powder is corrosive.

He does a great job on packing the hopper in 'peanuts' and bubble wrap.

You'll need a 8-32thd tap and #29 drill bit.

Use a #19 drill for clearance on the screws.

He supplies SS rnd head Allen screws.

My order was shipped the same day I ordered and to be delivered Monday!

I don't mind making slight modifications, just which I had read it on their web site.  Now I have to make a special trip to town to buy a tap and while I'm driving past Burger King a double cheese burger too.

Get a 3 flute tap if you can.

Easier to start and keep centered than the 2 flute.

A drop of ATF fluid helps in the drilling and tapping.

Will this work on the Hornady BP measure replacing the aluminum hopper?  I'd love to be able to see the powder level.

Fingers (Show Me MO smoke) McGee.

I have no clue-

You need to contact the maker for that info.

Another trip back to town for ATF....or I'll take a drop of the wife's car dip stick resulting in no second cheeseburger.

What's this 'risk' you speak of?

I've loaded real BP on my D/550 for over 30+ yrs.

OLG

Dillon emphatically recommends against using their powder hoppers with bp.  The only risk that I can see is from static electricity build up in the plastic tube.  The rest is metal.

It's up to you to decide to follow Dillon's recommendation, or not. It's not for me to say what you should do--

It has been proven, that the static myth and BP, is a bunch of BS.

You MUST, 110% clean the PM after using BP. ;)

YMMV,

I have a 650XL and no drilling or tapping needed.  Glass hopper is smaller in diameter but around 2" taller.  Took me longer to get the plastic hopper out then to install the glass hopper.  One of the screw holes was off just enough I couldn't get the supplied screw started.  Rotated the glass hopper 180 degrees and the same hole was off, it's the hole in the Dillion casting that was off.  A few strokes with a rat tail file and the screw fits now.  I noticed the new lid doesn't have the small vent that the Dillion cap has.  Keep moisture out but wonder if the powder will become vacuum bound between refills?

I'm going to try it without the vent hole in the cap.

I've had the 650 for 8 years?

I wanted the " Made in USA" sticker in the front but it would defeat the purpose of having a see through hopper.  Sticker should be at the top!

When the powder gets down to about 1/2-3/4" above the sticker, refill the hopper;)
