Double entendres as SASS aliases go back to the very beginnings of SASS.  Are we to now go back and censor each and every one?

FYI, here's the truth about a 3 ft johnson:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnson_bar_(vehicle)

Just to add, has anyone listened to the music kids listen to now, let alone the social media aspect. Unless they are home schooled, the stuff they hear is much worse at school, tv and sometimes at home. Have to face the facts, todays kids already know the cuss words, have their ideas on what sex is all about and don't put a whole lot of thought into aliases.

I guess that someone could even get an sexual innuendo out of my alias. Cypress trees have large roots that stick upright out of the swamp and the Sun rises in the East, sets in the West. Takes a big reach......I guess.

I shoot with a pard “Stubby” he’s missing part of his left index finger from a tablesaw accident. He used to be Stubby Miller and changed it to Stubby, I’ve always called him Little Peter because he’s not very tall, a little over 5ft and his name is Peter. I’ve tried to get him to change his alias but he doesn’t think SASS will allow it.

I'm kinda with Miss Allie on this one.  I don't know what the Alias Guru at SASS is thinking sometimes.

I remember one time the Boss & I were going off to visit clients.  He showed up in his Big Johnson tie.  Sez me: you ain't going out in public with me in that tie.  Sez he:  Sure, I am.  And he did.  Sometimes you just gotta go with it.

No harm, no foul.

Especially given the buntline explanation.

I’m torn on this. I totally agree with Allie’s overall point. But does the alias in question cross the line? I don’t know. It’s totally an innuendo. There’s absolutely no question about that in my mind. I just don’t know if it crosses the line. A politician once said “I can’t define pornography but I know it when I see it.” I'm not sure if I’m seeing it in this case.

You can be as juvenile and childish as you want with your aliases. And yes, my 16 year old daughter hears much worse at school; I just think that as a family-friendly organization, we could grow up a little. She will hear your well thought out, clever alias and give me the "what a dork" look.

Some just can't let go of the poop and fart jokes. Best to ya.

I am just saddened that a group I have belonged to for so long and enjoyed for so long has finally succumbed to the political correctness virus, and that so many people are seeing things that aren't there and demanding that we all fall into their way of thinking. What's next, a demand that the horses of mounted shooters wear diapers?

My God, folks, let's grow up.

I wanted to post this clarification to my providing a 322175009_ThanksIcon.png.96131b2e49710f6abcf1bc43d2c0b9e8.png to the OP.

It pertained to the following statement regarding Aliases in general:

"What do you think of an alias that is a sexual innuendo?  Should it be allowed, or not?"

Here are my thoughts:

Three Foot Johnson is an acceptable Alias ( I even said so in my post to his thread re same)

*  Aliases that have a direct sexual innuendo should never be allowed.

*  An Alias with an inferred sexual innuendo are basically that....inferred. Only the user knows what was meant in its creation.

*  And if the "powers that be" at SASS Headquarters have approved it, then it must be acceptable. (unless a petition is filed to have it removed)

Things that concern me regarding things being "family friendly:"

The choreographed dancing on most any awards show, Super Bowl half time show or other popular production shown on TV

The clothing celebrities, predominantly female, choose to wear to these same award shows, either to perform in or simply be seen in public in

Many high school cheerleading and drill team routines

Certain testicular shaped attachments hanging from the bumper or tow receiver on vehicles, most typically 4x4 trucks

Any number of bumper stickers or decals that show up on vehicles, again often 4x4s, such as those that show a stick figure "performing" a suggestive act on the word "It', or a likeness of Calvin, of 'Calvin and Hobbes' grinning as he urinates on the emblem of the owner's rival vehicle

Many song lyrics blaring out of vehicles, across the radio or Sirius or what have you (And this from a guy whose favorite band is Led Zeppelin. Have you LISTENED to The Lemon Song?)

A good portion of stuff that shows up on Twitter, and even Facebook that actually clears their algorithm.

Things that don't concern me regarding things being "family friendly:"

Aliases where I have to mentally supply the gutter thought for it to be a sexual innuendo. Turns out, that speaks more about me and my mind, not the alias. If I were so priggish in my thinking, I suppose I would have to wash my own mind out with soap, or sit and self-flagellate (wait, is that an innuendo?).

Heyya Forty Rod,

First, my comments has nothing to do with the Three Foot alias...I've already gave my opinion on those kind of aliases.

But making a general statement that aliases with sexual innuendos should not be acceptable as aliases has nothing to do with Political Correctness.

If you truly believe what you are saying then I would be able to use the alias "Cock su**er"...after all, Deadwood used it all the time.

The unambiguous sexual innuendo version in this case would be, "Three Leg Johnson."

Gracie Allen told George about her three footed niece one time:

George:  Your little niece has three legs?

Gracie:  Yes.  I got a letter from my brother.  He says I wouldn't recognise her.  She's grown another foot.

Can people ever stop worrying that someone else may be having a good time and getting away with it?

As you well know, people join SASS for the sole purpose of having a good time.  I don't think that's Allie Mo's concern.  It's whether or not that good time is a negative reflection on the group as a whole.  Is it?  I still can't answer that question.  But I fully support her looking out for the group by asking.

If people never worried about others getting away with having a good time...then I be happy! I'd be able to do all the stuff I've always wanted to do without the fear of prison.

I believe this technique is known as reductio ad absurdum (please forgive my attempt latin spelling).

I personally know a man name Dick Johnson.

I went to school with a girl who's Father and brother were Gary and Harry. Guess with their last name was? Dick.

Fer realsies.

I wonder if these guys could have used their real names as SASS aliases now that political correctness is encroaching in a fun game?

Well, they shouldn't be using their real name per the S.A.S.S. Guidelines:

Quote

SELECTING A SASS ALIAS Your SASS Alias is exclusively yours. Every SASS member is required to select an alias that closely represents a character or profession from the Old West or western film genre.

Which begs the question as to why we have so many aliases that don't really reflect a character or profession from the old west or western film...

Technique... too funny!!

But your use of Latin at least gives the illusion of sophistication.

It has become contentious around here!!  I got two ideas here. How about a new alias?  “N. Youendo!!”

My other thought is that “innuendo” COULD be mistaken for some form of “eyetalian preversion”!!! :o

Everybody is offended by SOMETHING. Plug Blackwater into the Urban Dictionary site... ick. Half the aliases here probably have some nasty meaning somewhere if you look hard enough and that's what you decide to be offended by.

Innuendo... that's a good 'un though!
