Cold Lake Kid, SASS # 51474
Cap Torment, Quebec, on the St. Lawrence River tidal mud-flats, a snow goose hunt, from a pit blind. After wading through the knee deep mud retrieving birds, my Dad and I started shooting them close in with light shot to avoid the struggle to retrieve the harvest. (Would that be lazy or just smarter?)

It's a game preserve and we were there as part of a group selected to cull the flock to prevent them from overgrazing on the sedge grass needed for their diet. You get an evening and morning shoot, after you are selected. We were told a dog would just get bogged in the mud in any case. Our limit was 10 per person each day, with a two day total possession limit. We came home with 40 birds. Good eating!
