Trigger Mike
What does the "B" suffix at the end of the serial number of a 1873 rifle made in 1885 mean? the serial number search would not recognize the letter on savage99.com when I did a serial number search there. Sedalia Dave
Early Winchesters may have had a letter suffix added to their serial numbers. AFAIK there is no consensus on what the letters mean. Very early serial numbers may or may not have had an A, Later serial numbers may or may not of had a B there are also some reports of a C suffix. Even letters from Winchester cannot shed any light on the significance of the suffix
