Bart Slade Posted July 10, 2019 Share Posted July 10, 2019 Read a couple of newspaper articles from July 1869 that mention anvil firing in passing (regarding prematurely fired anvils), such as this article from the Albany (Oregon) Democrat: Maybe I'm in the minority - but I couldn't help but wonder...what the heck is "discharging an anvil"?
