Consecutive Pair USFA Rodeos .38. **SOLD**

Recommended Posts

As the title says.....   Each come with box, docs, USFA gun socks... everything that came from the factory plus two extra sets of grips. The white checkered two piece grips came standard on the 9 shot .22lr pistol USFA made and sold. They fit the Rodeo’s also.

The backstrap top “Shield” has the Red River D engraved.  My alias is lightly engraved on the backstrap and would be easily removed since it is not very deep. See pics.

I am the original owner and can attest that the have run flawlessly.  These were refinished when I first got them because I didn’t like that bead blasted looking finish from the factory.  Because I knew USFA would no longer be made, I put these in the safe several years ago and stopped using them in matches. Now, it’s time to let someone else enjoy and use them.  They have Wolff springs throughout and the original tuning was done by Hogleg Smith.

Since these have been refinished and wear my alias,  I have priced these at $.            for the pair, local pickup. Will ship to your FFL on your dime.

I wonder if original grip frames can be found as the engraving looks too deep to remove. And, the screw slots are buggered but the screws can probably be replaced.

Why don’t you wonder that to yourself instead of souring the man’s post.

I talked to Rick at Ten Ring (they bought all the USFA spare parts) and they are out of grip frames.  Standard Manufacturing acquired all the USFA blueprints and some machinery.  I haven’t been able to ask them if their grip frames will fit, however, Rick, at Ten Ring, said the engraving could easily be removed.  A local gun refinished told me the same thing a couple of months ago.

I took these type things into consideration when I priced the pistols.  Oh, and those screws got messed up by my ex-gunsmith.  It didn’t really bother me, therefore, I haven’t looked for replacements, but, I’m sure they are available from Colt or Uberti.

The engraving isn't "too deep" to remove.  Having cut off a few engraved back straps and refinished them myself.    But the engraving is deep by most standards.   I think the question was more than fair if you had interest in the guns.  And  fairly answered.   I looked this pair over long and hard myself as I have half a dozen K series Rodeos I thought I might make  some additional consecutive guns.  No joy  how ever.
