Yeah you sure went out on a limb.

Well, Cody James and Missouri Lefty were there too and had you been there I’d a bet on .........

Absolutely impressive.  So smooth it belies the speed.

That's exactly what I was thinking. So smooth in transitions it almost seemed like he was going slow. Great job!

That’s for sure! I have him beat in that department lol. I just built him a new rig. He’s shot the same one for over 9 years now.  Here is his new that he hasn’t used yet. It has a crocodile inlay.

That is easily the best looking rig I have ever seen. It would be awesome to see something like that show up in the movies.

ETA Congrats Matt, I got a little too preoccupied by the rig!

I'm sure it's the "trick" guns he uses... NOT!

He's good... he's real good. Talented and I'm sure practices a ton.

Congratulations young man, well earned!

Thank you!

It’s funny you say that about the movies. I made a rig for my good friend Frank Stallone and I also built a 1911 rig for his brother Sly

Chocolate Croc. They dye the hides. Man that stuff is tough to cut through.

It sure looks easy the way he does it but it sure isn’t. I tried it a few times. Lol

You're spoil'n that kid.......

May I ask-How many hours you put into that whole setup?

NICE:excl:

OLG

He shot the same rig for over 9 years. It’s this exact design and works so well for him. His still works great so I doubt this one will see any action for a while. Lol

this rig took me about 7 hours to build maybe a little less. It’s steel lined and is the absolute best design for him. He loves it. He’s a no frills kind of guy so I bet he keeps shooting the one he’s been shooting. He’s a creature of habit. Lol

this is his rig he’s been shooting all these years. I refinished it not long ago and dyed it black. It was brown before.

That's awesome! I was thinking about how cool this rig design would have worked for Russel Crow's character in the 3:10 to Yuma remake.

That was fun to watch. Again. And again. And again.

Not enough O's in smooth to describe it.

Very well done, Mr. Black.

Thank you for posting, Colt.

It’s funny you say that as well because I did this rig my rendition of the Hand of God rig used by Russel Crowe in 310 to Yuma for my buddy Frank Stallone. The gator inlay that I used was given to me by his brother Sylvester. Sly got the gator hide when he was filming the movie Bullet to the Head down in Louisiana. Here is the rig I built for Frank

Colt-What brand sewing machine do you use?

Outstanding workmanship and detail.

For that amount of work-I think you sew as fast as Matt shoots...

OLG

I use a Cobra class 4 machine. It’s awesome.

Thanks for posting this video of a master of our sport! Got to watch him at Land Run last spring on a couple of stages and was just awed at the smooth transitions and  how smoothly he handled his guns, such a pleasure to watch ! That is some great leather work on that rig Colt, true artwork!!    SCJ
