Subdeacon Joe
Another Facebook post. Don't think it has made it to Youtube, or that it will.
Colorado Coffinmaker
Whole passel of DC-3/C-47s have migrated to Europe for a commemorative Fly By over the D-Day landing beaches and the Drop Zones. Plan is also to deliver some parachutists. The airplanes are basing themselves at RAF Duxford, a part of the Imperial War Museum. Way KOOL!! Abilene Slim SASS 81783
I've always thought the cinematography in this scene of the C-47s taking off in "Band of Brothers" is spectacular. Scroll to about the 1:00 min mark.
DocWard
I've always liked this particular scene from A Bridge too Far. Especially around the 4:45 mark

DocWard
I'm pretty sure I would've been the kid pulling away and running out of the church to see all of the planes.
Pat Riot
The narrator’s comment about “imagine 155 of these planes taking off”. Wow, what a sight to see that would have been. Even better, all 155 coming back...
