Utah Bob #35998
Chub’s casket was transported to the cemetery in a horse drawn wagon along with his pallbearers and close family members. His favorite horse was led behind the wagon. The weather was cold with intermittent rain/snow showers. Thankfully, the pastor spoke only briefly and then introduced the VFW detail. We did our ceremony and rendered final honors. At the last strains of the bugle, the show began falling in earnest. Farewell, brother. Rest in Peace. These things get harder for me each passing year. ☹️

MizPete
Don't think facing our own mortality is so much the problem. My own death will be, I think, less painful to me than the loss of people I hold dear. And the death of a veteran is always a loss to us.
