Ha!  So... how many will "get it," Joe?    ^_^

With this group, until Blackwater blurted it out, I would have guessed about 75%.

Yah... we should encourage just an "I Got It!" kinda response.   whistling.gif

But I think you might be a mite high with that estimate...

If so, not by much.  I wouldn't go below 2/3.  We have a fairly eclectic and well read group here.

Yeah, but how many actually saw that movie AND have the capacity to remember anything about it. I'm guessing less than 50%

Um....I'm guessing that many read the book.  I don't know many who could stomach either movie all the way through.

Really, that many read books?

Didn’t mean to throw a spoiler there!  Figured it was a challenge.

I’ll edit it and see who else is hep!

I saw the first movie.  Just twisted enough for someone like me!!

I thought the first (1984) was the better of the two...

However!

There were multiple attempts to create the movie before then, dating back as far as 1971....

Casting actually started in '73, and included Salvador Dali, Orson Welles, Mick Jagger, David Carradine, Gloria Swanson... and Pink Floyd for the soundtrack.  Unfortunate that it never took flight.

Dangit, Marshall... ya let the cat out!

You really didn't need to edit it,  but thank you.

I have likely seen the whole movie,  but in disjointed bits and pieces.   I  think I made it about 45 minutes the first time I tried to watch it.   Maybe I wasn't drunk enough.

Over the years I've attempted to watch it on television from time to time,  so I've caught more bits of it.

I will say that it is better than  "Starship Troopers."

Wait!  There were TWO movies?  I saw the one with Sting and Patrick Stewart.  Is that the first one or the second one?

Well,  SiFi , now SyFy, did a 4 1/2 hour movie that they broke up into a 3 part mini series.  Back around 2000, 2001.i consider that as the 2nd movie.

I missed that one.  If it comes back around I may have to watch it.  Although, I'm sure the book will still be better than the movie.
