My Dad adored her. He would stop in his tracks if she was on TV and he saw all of her movies.

She was definitely a "star".

I always had her like Debbie Reynolds, nice women. She would never play the Calamity Jane of Deadwood.

I never felt Doris Day did well as a western character. The Ballad Of Josie was NOT one of her better efforts. Westerns are not great vehicles for everyone!  I don't think Pee Wee Herman or Jim Parsons would fare well as a western movie hero. There are many others as well!

Miss Day was fabulous in many other genres of film.  Not westerns!!

When I was young, I loved her in "Pillow Talk" , Rock too. It tarnished somewhat when I found out he was Gay!  Hoss C.
