LawMan Mark, SASS #57095L Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 I had a rough childhood. Mom would read recipes for us at suppertime, since we had no food. My little brother nearly starved to death before they figured out he was hard of hearing.
Catlow4697 Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 My Mother learned to cook from her Mother When the food is smoking its cooking when it's black it's done

Catlow4697 Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 When I was cooking at the Fire Station the smoke alarm was just outside the kitchen doorway My crew knew when the smoke alarm went off the food was on the table The three rules for dinner were: Make a lot Make it hot Serve it late
MizPete Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Well, my Mama could make a decent meal out of an old boot. My parents set up housekeeping during the Depression and could stretch nothing into something fine. When I married I really didn't know how to cook, but I knew how food should taste, and just went from there. I can cut up a chicken. My pot roast (finally) is almost as good as my mother-in-law's. Just take a look at me & Petey & you know I can cook. Meat & two, every day.
LawMan Mark, SASS #57095L Posted May 7, 2019 Author Posted May 7, 2019 I wont talk bad about my ex wife's cooking, but she did break the dog from begging at the table .
Sixgun Sheridan Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 I always wondered why my ex-wife hadn't met my brother instead. They both rely on the smoke alarm to tell them when their food is done.
