Waimea
Ok I didn't realize that this show was just an advertisement for NWO. When I was a kid I just liked it. What was the gun that Solo and Kuriakin carried? Real or just a Hollywood creation?

Abilene Slim SASS 81783
I had forgotten they used any unique guns for the series. But back then, I knew nothing about those kinds of things. My gun awareness was westerns, "The Untouchables" and "Combat"
punxsutawneypete
I think Mattel sold a variation of it.
Utah Bob #35998
Because of that cool show, I bought a P38 when I was in Germany in 68. But I was never as cool as Solo. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057765/trivia?ref_=tt_trv_trv
Abilene Slim SASS 81783
Apparently someone made one, but this doesn't appear to be Mattel. I could be wrong, but I don't recall Mattel making licensed items. By 1965, I had already been shooting .22s for a couple of years and the toys were off my radar. Wish I still had my Mattel Winchester tho...
Waimea
Guess I should have recognized the P38. Funny that the Luger was another gun Solo was frequently seen using. The opening credits with Solo behind the bullet proof glass may have been the coolest opener ever made. Waimea
Pat Riot
U.N.C.L.E. stands for "United Network Command for Law and Enforcement" When I was younger I somehow convinced myself it stood for United Nations Crime League Extrordinaire. I have no idea why.
Joke 'um
P-38 was a favorite of the bad guys on that other spy classic, Get Smart. The KAOS assasins seemed to love 'em. Maybe, "Ve don't use Schmidt und Vesson in KAOS, Starker!"

Trailrider #896
If you believe in reincarnation, maybe Solo was what happened to Lee in the Magnificent Seven!
