Widder, SASS #59054
I use an Apple lap top. That's what I am using to type this thread. Yesterday, Friday, I suddenly lost all my emails. Heck, I can't even bring up the email screen or system now. Anyhow, since then, my computer gets very warm, almost hot, on the bottom of it after only about 5-10 minutes of usage. Whats wrong and what will I need to do to get it fixed? Gotta go now. Will read your replies in about 30 minutes. Its getting warm again. ..........Widder
Yul Lose
Go visit an Apple store. My iPad did that and they fixed it no charge.
J-BAR #18287
Might have to replace the hard drive. $200. Unless you get lucky with Yul’s advice.

Calamity Kris
Agreed. Get it to an Apple store NOW. I lost my laptop because I didn't heed that advice and it overheated and burned up.
Okie Sawbones, SASS #77381
If you're good at opening a computer and tinkering, check the fan operation, and check for lint/pet hair blocking the fan exhaust. I did this on one of my laptops and it worked fine afterward.
The Original Lumpy Gritz
Blocked fan duck for the transformer, or might be a dead fan or broken blade. Let cool and remove and reinstall battery(if you can). Lost the fan blade on my 9yo HP many years ago-Now use and external fan that plugs into USB port. 'Puter never leaves the table ........ Widder, SASS #59054
Looks like I got it fixed. Apparently, I had tooooooooo many programs running at the same time AND, somehow my email activities were 'hidden'. Unbeknown to me was that my ITunes were running. And I don't even use ITunes. Plus, another program was running which I don't use. All that stuff, including the SASS Wire, Youtube, etc...... was overheating my computer. Thanks to one of our computer wizkids at church, its back to running good..... at no cost. Can't beat that. Thanks for all the help and suggestions. ..........Widder
The Original Lumpy Gritz
Widder-Use compressed air and clean out the side vents. You will be surprised, when you see the amount of crud that comes out. Can you hear the fan running?? OLG
