The phrase "have a nice day" is so over-used that hearing it tells me the person really couldn't give a rat's buttocks whether I have a nice day or not, and they're simply uttering it as a way to break contact. Saying ANYTHING else tells me they at least thought about it for a moment.

A good line in the movie Wyatt Earp with Kevin Costner. One of the cowboys threatened the Earps and Doc Holliday (Dennis Quaid) as he began to ride away...

 

Cowboy: "I'll be seeing you."

 

Holliday: "Seeing you would be a welcome change. I hear most of yours got it in the back!".
