What are M1 clips going for?

Another forum I'm on, a guy has some for sale. Out of curiosity I looked.

He has 24, for $50 plus shipping.

That seemed a tad high to me, but it's been a few years. And, I'm a firm believer in "if it belongs to you, you get to decide what it's worth".

But I think I'd have to be awful desperate to pay $2 plus for one.

I'll have to double check, but it seems like I bought a box of 25 from the CMP for about $20-25.  Of course what somebody lists an item for and what it actually sells for are two different things.

$2 - $3 each at the shows around here!

That's because those clips are genuine battlefield pickups from the Ardennes Forest. They had one GI shooting at the Germans and his buddy in the foxhole policing up the clips for later resale.

Here's an interesting clip ID discussion...

Genuine WWII and postwar GI clips are now collectible.

I use mostly IMI clips from Israel. No problems with feeding.
