Uncle Stinky
When cycling the action the old Navy Schofield's 45 cylinder hangs on two of six. I need a good Schofield fixer-upper. Any tips? It's a nice shooter and I hate to see it gather dust.
El Hombre Sin Nombre
Try Cody of the cowboy shop. Last I talked to him, he was still working on schofields.
The Original Lumpy Gritz
Look for rub marks on the front of the cyl. What's your barrel to cyl gap? You want at least .006-.008. OLG
Uncle Stinky
Quote Thanks for the replies. Cylinder gap A-OK. I e-mailed Cody to see if he will take it.
Dantankerous
Revolver loaded or empty?
Uncle Stinky
Empty or loaded it makes no difference. I've miked everything and it is in spec. It runs smooth as baby's butt until it hits the 1st of the 2 cylinders and it locks up tight. I am thinking it might be the hand on the star wheel but I cannot find any burrs or other problems. Disassembled the gun, removed the lawyer'd safety parts, and could find nothing internal causing the problem. I need an experienced smith to spot the problem. Waiting on Cody right now.
