Texas politician. Robert O'Rourke. His grandfather is also Robert, so they called him Beto, which is, apparently, a traditional Mexican nickname for anyone whose name ends in berto. So Roberto O'Rourke grew up as Beto O'Rourke.

Apparently some of the dumber Mexican voters are seeing the name Beto and thinking, "Esse. He's one of us! We must vote for him!", and completely missing the O'Rourke part.

Either that or he's insisting that he has Mexican blood, which you can tell because his name is Beto.

I'm not really sure, but he's in Texas, so I don't care.

After reading about this guy a little earlier perhaps a more appropriate fluid in the shot glass would be another yellow fluid that is not normally dispensed in shot glasses...but only if the drink is for him...

Robert Francis "Beto" O'Rourke is less Mexican than "Pocahontus" is a native American.   His gesticulation is so violent that I can't watch him speak for more than 60 seconds before my head hurts.
