Warden Callaway
I always think of my dad when the time changes. We were fixing fence and he said, "Dang! It's 9:35 and your mother wanted to go out for lunch!". He pitched his tools in the truck and took off for the house. I knew it was more like a little past 11:00. But Dad never changed his watch with the time change. He just adjusted an hour when it came daylight savings time. Plus his watch lost about a minute a month and was some 45 minutes behind. I used go leave my garage clocks on DST. Made no sense changing them. I knew they were off an hour.
Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217
We have a clock outside under the eave of the shop. I never change it as I only use it when it is DST and it requires a tall ladder to get to.

So if you get up at 0530 Daylight Saving Time (DST) you are getting up at 0430 Standard Time. I completely understand that I lost an hour of sleep with the change to DST. You see, I don't leave for the gym until about 9am but was getting up at 5:30am but with DST, I'll be getting up at 6:30am thus sleeping an hour later due to my infallible internal clock. Warden Callaway
I just came in from changing out cards in my trail cams. One needed new batteries. When I installed the new ones, I checked the time and date. Right on. It had been left "spring ahead" since "fall back". I'm on time again. Ramblin Gambler
It's all a scam by the trilateral commision to steal our hours. Most people are born during DST, and die during ST. When you do that, you have an hour that you loaned out and never claimed back. THEY keep those hours. I don't know how or why they do it, but it's the only explanation I can come up with for why we haven't stopped doing the time change thing yet. This isn't just a vestigial remnant from a bygone era that is only kept around because of momentum. If it were, THEY wouldn't have still been putting pressure on Indiana to start using DST in 2005. If it were, THEY wouldn't be constantly adjusting the dates it begins and ends. There are some who say the real reason arizona lost the superbowl in the 90's was to put pressure on them to go back onto the DST standard. Good on Arizona for being stubborn. I'm sure THEY don't care much about those hours they lose out on in Arizona, but it must be a burr under their saddle that twice a year everyone points to AZ and wonders why we can't be like them. Most importantly, if we did away with DST, I would never again have to see someone claim an event is at a certain time "EST" in the middle of the summer when they mean "EDT". That really sets me off. Utah Bob #35998
The Colorado legislature has a pending bill to keep DST year round. I am opposed to it. I hate 9pm sunset in the summer. Apparently it takes us legislative approvel to keep DST all year but not to do away with it. States can toss it out if they choose.

Forty Rod SASS 3935
Why not just leave it alone and if someone wants to change his / her hours of business they should do just that. We need another government controlled boondoggle like I need a barbed wire jock strap.
