TGC, thank you for taking the time to post this video!

It simply amazes me how fast people with the skill sets can work these lever guns (and SA revolvers, and doubles...).

Finally was able to shoot mine last weekend.  Smoothest action I have ever had the pleasure to shoot.  Runs like a dream.  I couldn’t be happier.

Finally have a second rifle to send off to Carty

here is a photo to compare the length of stoke from new unfired rifle and the Carty short stroked Winchester

Any chance you could lay them out so that both have the lever facing the same way and barrels parallel to get a better idea of how much shorter it is?

What would this be like,  a 3rd, a 4th or a fifth gen kit?

4th and 5th are the same.

From what I understand Carty sets them at the SASS minimum, which is the same as a 4th/5th gen C&I kit.

That walnut is gorgeous on both of those rifles.

Quite a few mechanical differences actually.

The lever cams where the springs ride and the lever/lifter springs are very different.

The carrier and the lever arm, the arm has a ball on the end and the channel it rides in is different as well as a slight change to the carrier to eject brass forward more.

The firing pin extension has the drop safety in it.

The main spring and the way it fits on the hammer is more like a SAA.

The miroku seems more like a refinement of the 73 more than an attempt at a clone.

Sounds like you are really knowledgeable, which do you prefer and why? I own a Uberti, so no experience with the Miroku.

Thank you for the info!

Been shooting Colt McAllister tuned  Uberti’s since 2003,  just started shooting the Carty tuned Winchester. Absolutely love the Winchester.  Was about .4-.5 seconds faster with the Winchester in the first week.

loved it enough to go thru the hassle of have a second rifle made.  (2018 shotshow rifle not available in 357)
