Reduced / S&W Perfected Model Pocket Pistol

Recommended Posts

Selling my Smith and Wesson Perfected Model in 38 S&W.  This was the last model break top pocket pistol S&W made and features the thumb side lock.   This pistol sports a 4” barrel, works great both single and double action.  Blueing is 80% with a small amount of freckling,  Bore and chambers are excellent.  Grips are awesome with no chips and minimal wear.    REDUCED.  $ 500.00 Shipped to your FFL

Best regards,

Chili

What year is it?

Not 100% sure but based on the 4 digit serial number (61XX). I’d say 1909 or 1910.

Best regards,

Is it smokless or only blackpowder?

Both.   Most people use light smokeless loads for side match’s.

Thanks for inquiring

Chili,

I am curious about the thumb side lock on a top break revolver. I have not seen this before. What is the function of the thumb side lock?

thanks,

Ethan

Obviously, I am not Chili. But if I may. There were disparaging remarks made by the likes of Colt that all the bad guy had to do was to reach over and pull your top lock, opening the pistol and shucking the cartridges leaving you helpless. By adding the thumb lock this alleviated that possibility as they both have to be moved to open the action.
